‘El Mencho’s’ Son Had Governors And Police Chiefs Amongst His Ranks: Comms Revealed

More than ten years ago, the DEA obtained private BlackBerry conversations from members of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), which detailed their operations.

WASHINGTON, D.C.— Nemesio Oseguera, known as ‘El Mencho’, leader of the ruthless New Generation Jalisco Cartel (CJNG for its Spanish acronym) had police chiefs, officers and even a governor on his payroll, according to new communications and testimonies revealed during the trial against Rubén Oseguera, ‘El Menchito’, Nemesio Oseguera’s son.

One of the main guys under ‘El Mencho’ and his son ‘El Menchito’s’ payroll was Herminio Gómez Ancira, a former chief of police in Villa Purificación, a small village in Jalisco. Gómez -who testified on Friday- confessed that he provided security ops, information and hiding locations for ‘El Mencho’ and his son during his time in Mexico.

Gómez Ancira also made a shocking revelation: He revealed how former Jalisco Governor, Aristóteles Sandoval, who was killed in a bar in 2020 in Guadalajara, received 3 million U.S. Dollars from ‘El Mencho’ as bribe to let them operate freely in the state.

“We paid for his campaign 3 million dollars. We delivered it to him in Barra de Navidad (a municipality in Jalisco). That money was for his campaign, for his expenses and his deals”, Gomez said. “The money was handed over by my godfather, El Mencho,” he added.

According to Gomez, the police in municipalities in the mountain area of Jalisco like Autlán, Mazatán and Cuautitlán, were also working for the CJNG.

Oscar Orlando Nava Valencia, aka Lobo, the former leader of the Milenio Cartel -who also testified last week in Washington- explained how having local and state authorities on their side was crucial for the operations of the drug cartel.

Witness after witness showed how the CJNG went from a branch for the Milenio Cartel to forming a ruthless worldwide criminal organization with the help of police chiefs, officers and governors.
