A New Cartel Configuration Underway In Mexico

Some of the oldest criminal organizations are vanishing while new ones are rising. Here are some thoughts on why is this cartel new order is happening.

CIUDAD JUÁREZ, México.— The criminal map in Mexico is currently changing: the main different cartels operating in the country have established new alliances, some of them, like the Sinaloa Cartel, are undergoing deep changes that could compromise its existence as one of the most powerful criminal organizations in the world; at the same time others, like La Nueva Familia Michoacana, Cartel Santa Rosa de Lima and Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generación could be benefiting from this new configuration.
